Ukrainian enterprises post UAH 63 bln profit, following losses one year earlier

The financial results from Ukraine`s profitable enterprises in the first half of 2016 grew by 9.2% year-over-year to UAH 181.173 billion, while unprofitable enterprises saw their losses decrease by 68.6% to UAH 124.223 billion, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported on its website.

Large and medium-sized enterprises of Ukraine posted a pre-tax profit of UAH 62.950 billion in the reported period, as compared to a loss of UAH 224.451 billion during the same period last year.

Further, the number of unprofitable enterprises in Ukraine, in relation to their total number, decreased by 7.7 percentage points to 34.6% in the first six months of the year.

Meanwhile, the State Statistics Service noted that the data does not include information from temporarily occupied territory in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, or from the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, last year large and medium-sized enterprises of Ukraine, excluding budget-funded institutions, posted a pre-tax loss of UAH 230.612 billion, which has decreased 1.7 times over revised data on pre-tax losses from the previous year – which was UAH 389.114 billion.
