Ukrainian banks` assets expand by almost 3% in Feb

Operating Ukrainian-based banks` assets in February expanded by 2.9%, or UAH 38 billion, to UAH 1.331 trillion as of March 1, 2016, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The data does not include the insolvent banks` information.
Since the beginning of the year, the operating banks` assets have grown by 6.1%, or UAH 77 billion, the NBU said.
At the same time, the operating banks` total assets, including accumulated reserves, expanded by 2.6%, or UAH 43 billion, to UAH 1.667 trillion as of March 1, 2016. Their growth since the beginning of the year has been 6.1%, or UAH 96 billion.
The liabilities of Ukraine`s solvent banks increased by 1.6%, or UAH 19 billion, to UAH 1.197 trillion, while capital rose by 16.4%, or UAH 19 billion, to UAH 134.36 billion.
The NBU said that the number of working banks with a banking license in Ukraine in February decreased by 3, to 113 organizations.
As UaPosition reported earlier, Ukraine saw a 3.1% increase, or by UAH 38.719 billion, in the operating banks` assets in January to UAH 1.293 trillion as of February 1, 2016.
