The Spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces Serhiy Cherevatyy told what happened to the Russian group that was surrounded by Ukrainian troops in the Lyman area (east of Ukraine) as of October 3, 2022.

“Some of them were physically destroyed, some were captured, and some were able to leave in columns or small groups. Now some part is trying to occupy the defense in Kreminna. Our military continues stabilization measures, catching the remnants of the Russian army (Russian soldiers are somewhere in the forests), demining the territory (many mines of various types, and stretch marks were found.”
The Spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces also noted that the Russian defense near Lyman was “very powerful”. According to Serhiy Cherevatyy, in addition to the recently mobilized, there were experienced Russian military personnel.
Earlier, the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian group in the Lyman area was surrounded – about 5,000 Russian soldiers were there.
