Ukrainian army began the liberation of the Luhansk region in the east

The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhii Haidai said on October 5, 2022, that several settlements had already been liberated from Russian troops in the Luhansk region (east of Ukraine).

“Well, now it’s official – the liberation of the Luhansk region has begun. Several settlements have already been liberated from the Russian army, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already raising the Ukrainian flag there.”

The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration did not specify exactly which settlements were de-occupied by the Ukrainian defenders.

Serhii Haidai also appealed to the residents of the region, urging them not to rush back to their homes immediately, as it could be dangerous. He explained that the territories must first be demined.

The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration added that last week was productive. In particular, he met with the ambassadors of 17 countries.

“We have reached certain agreements regarding further recovery and assistance for the Luhansk region.”
