Ukrainian air defense destroyed 9 Russian drones in the east and south

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed on April 24, 2023, that air defense destroyed nine Russian unmanned aerial vehicles in the south and east of Ukraine.

Russian troops began to use a new tactic — a combined attack by drones, sometimes with the use of loitering munition, from different directions in order to disperse the efforts of Ukrainian air defense.

“As of 6:00 p.m. on April 24, nine Russian UAVs were destroyed: six strike Shahed-136/131 in the eastern direction — in the area of responsibility of the air command East and three — in the area of ​​responsibility of the air command South — two strike Lancet drones and one UAV of operational-tactical level,” explained the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, units of the Ukrainian missile forces and artillery during the day hit the anti-aircraft missile complex and two electronic warfare stations of the Russian army.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian military has destroyed 2,413 operational-tactical drones of Russian troops, 11 of them recently.
