Ukraine’s Foreign Minister will tour African countries for the first time in history

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted on October 2, 2022, that Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba would tour African countries for the first time in the history of Ukrainian diplomacy. It will last from October 3 to October 12.

Ukraine continues to establish diplomatic relations with world countries. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will start his tour with a visit to Senegal.

“The key topic of Kuleba’s talks in African countries will be the strengthening of political support for Ukraine by the countries of the global south, in particular, against the background of Russia’s latest attempt to annex Ukrainian territories.”

Other priorities of the negotiations include:

  • strengthening the role of Ukraine as a guarantor of global food security;
  • deepening cooperation in the field of education, promotion of Ukrainian IT products, in particular the Diia platform;
  • creation of new opportunities for Ukrainian exports using the capabilities of the Nazovni system.

A number of business forums with the participation of leading Ukrainian and African companies are also planned as part of the visit. In addition, the minister’s tour will be a preparation for the large-scale Ukraine-Africa conference.
