Ukraine will receive first air defense systems from US and Germany in October

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov noted on October 14, 2022, that several first launchers of the NASAMS anti-aircraft missile complex would be delivered to Ukraine this month, as well as the first air defense system IRIS-II from Germany.

“There is a US decision to supply Ukraine with the very famous NASAMS systems: the first few launchers. Training of Ukrainian specialists is already underway. And they will be delivered this month.”

He added that the first IRIS-II air defense system would arrive from Germany also in October.

Speaking about other current needs of Ukraine’s army, including winter uniforms, the Minister says that it is already being supplied to Ukrainian servicemen.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine also noted that Ukraine was currently developing countermeasures against drones used by Russians. He emphasized that a number of partner countries were also involved in the process of countering kamikaze drones.
