Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk believes that Ukraine will not depend on Russian gas in 10 years.
He said this at a meeting of the Cabinet today, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In the 10-year perspective, I see that we will diversify our gas supply sources to the extent
that Russia will stop blackmailing Ukraine forever,” the head of government said.
At the same time, he called on the Verkhovna Rada until the moment of the elections to adopt two laws on stimulation of investment activities in natural gas extraction, the projects of which have been prepared by the Cabinet.
“Primarily, these laws concern products distribution agreements that were signed by Ukraine with companies Shell and Chevron. I repeatedly approach the parliament, which blocks these initiatives, to vote these laws before the moment of the elections,” Yatseniuk said.
