Hostilities in Ukraine`s east and the implementation of the Minsk peace agreement are major subjects on the agenda of the first formal meeting of the Russia-NATO Council in almost two years, according to Radio Free Europe /Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).
The council, which will meet on April 20, will also discuss NATO and Russian military activities, with a focus on ”transparency and risk reduction,” as well as the security situation in Afghanistan and regional terrorism threats, NATO spokeswoman Carmen Romero said, RFE/RL wrote.
Officially, the Russia-NATO Council has never ceased its work. The previous meeting was held in June 2014 after Russia annexed Crimea.
Relations between Moscow and NATO worsened in 2014 in connection with the annexation of Crimea and war in Donbas in eastern Ukraine.
