Ukraine signed an agreement on receiving a second $2.5 billion grant from the USA

The press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported on April 5, 2023, that Ukraine will receive a second grant of $2.5 billion from the World Bank Trust Fund from the United States of America.

“Today, on April 5, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhii Marchenko and the World Bank Regional Country Director for Eastern Europe, (Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine) Arup Banerji signed the Agreement on providing Ukraine with a grant in the amount of 2.5 billion US dollars. The specified grant funds were provided by the United States of America and sent to the Trust Fund of many donors as the fourth additional financing within the framework of the project Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance (PEACE) in Ukraine,” informed the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

This is the second grant from the United States in the total amount of 9.9 billion dollars planned for 2023.

“Raised grant funds from the Trust Fund of many donors in the amount of 2.5 billion dollars will be aimed at ensuring the efficiency of the system of government bodies, education, health care and first response services, as well as at ensuring pension payments and certain programs of state social assistance,” added the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
