Ukraine pumps 1 bcm of gas into underground storage facilities in July

Ukraine pumped 1 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas into its underground gas storage facilities in July, corresponding to the volume in the same month last year, according to Ukrtransgaz, operator of Ukraine`s gas transport system.

It is also reported that a total of 2.2 bcm of gas has been accumulated in Ukraine`s underground gas storage facilities since the beginning of the year.

According to the press service, the volume of natural gas in Ukraine`s underground storages reached 10.559 bcm as of July 30, which is 34% of the total capacity.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine stopped transferring gas from its underground facilities following the conclusion of the heating season and since April 7, gas stocks are being replenished.
Ukraine plans to pump about 3.3-3.4 bcm of gas in August-September and accumulate 14.5 bcm of gas by the start of the next heating season.

Stocks of natural gas in the country`s underground storage facilities increased by 305 million cubic meters, or 2.9%, from 10.254 bcm on July 25 to 10.559 bcm on August 1.
