Ukraine PM praises Turkey`s move to ban its ships from entering occupied Crimea

Turkey`s decision to ban any Turkish vessel from entering the occupied Crimea is a powerful signal and a proof of comradeship between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman told a joint press point on the results of the meeting with Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim.

”Today, on the day of the visit we received a note prohibiting any Turkish vessels to visit the occupied Crimea. This is a very powerful signal,” he said.

The Head of Ukrainian Government thanked Turkey for the strong support for Ukraine`s territorial integrity and independence.

He also emphasized the peculiar role Turkey plays in supporting Crimean Tatars.

”Your stance in relation to Crimean Tatars is very important for us, and your desire to support under such difficult conditions is the evidence of high degree of friendliness between our countries”, he stressed.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim pledged Turkey`s support for Ukraine and its territorial integrity, as well as strong condemnation of the illegal annexation of Crimea.

Mr Yildirim commended the efforts of the Ukrainian Government aimed at the solution of problems of Crimean Tatar people.
