It is necessary to form six new brigades with a total number of 25,000 people for a full-fledged counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the complete liberation of the territories temporarily occupied by Russia in the south and east of Ukraine.

According to him, hundreds of long-range missiles and artillery units, planes and tanks, as well as thousands of drones are needed to liberate the territories from the Russians.
Russia has a lot of manpower, so, according to Danilov, a counteroffensive may be “not a very quick process.” He added that this would be possible later – Ukraine’s western partners will continue to provide us with weapons.
In addition, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council touched upon the issue of Siverskodonetsk, where there is heavy fighting for control of the city. According to him, in Siverskodonetsk and Lysychansk the enemy has an advantage in artillery, and Ukraine cannot “adequately respond” due to a lack of necessary weapons. Russia’s readiness to sacrifice its troops made it more difficult for the Ukrainian military to hold its ground.
“Temporary loss of territories is not a tragedy. The loss of the country will be a tragedy, ” Danilov said about the possible departure of the defense forces from the city.
