Ukraine needs new defense doc trine – Yatseniuk

Ukraine needs a new defense doctrine, in which it should be defined that Russia is an aggressor and a threat for existence of our country.
Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said, opening the government meeting on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The country needs a new defense doctrine with such a definition who is the aggressor and who is the threat. In the new defense doctrine Russia must be recognized as the aggressor state and the main and the only state, which threatens territorial integrity and national integrity of Ukraine,” the Premier noted.
He reminded that Ukraine filed the suits against the Russian Federation, including to the European Court of Human Rights with the approximate total amount of damages at more than UAH 1 trillion. In addition, the country started procedures for bringing Russia to responsibility at the UN International Court of Justice for violation of the Convention on combating terrorism.
“Russia is a terrorist state and an aggressor state and will be held responsible in compliance with the international law,” Yatseniuk stressed.
