Ukraine is losing in terms of artillery, we need Western weapons, – Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence of Ukraine

Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence of Ukraine said that the current war in Ukraine is mostly artillery, so Ukraine is losing to Russia at the forefront and needs more weapons from the West.

“This is an artillery war now. The front lines were now where the future would be decided, and we are losing in terms of artillery. Everything now depends on what [the west] gives us. Ukraine has one artillery piece to 10 to 15 Russian artillery pieces. Our western partners have given us about 10% of what they have.”

According to him, Ukraine uses from 5,000 to 6,000 artillery shells a day, and Ukrainian defenders have almost used up all their artillery ammunition. Currently, Ukrainian defenders are using standard NATO 155-calibre shells.

“Europe is also delivering lower-calibre shells, but as they run out in Europe, the amount is getting smaller.”

The intelligence representative stressed the need for the West to supply Ukraine with long-range missile systems to destroy Russian artillery guns from afar.

According to Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to the President of Ukraine, Ukraine needs 60 multiple rocket launchers – much more than Britain and the United States had promised – to have a chance to defeat Russia.
