Ukraine introduced sanctions against Russia

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has introduced additional sanctions against individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation, the NSDC`s press service said on Thursday.

In particular, ”the sanctions have been imposed on Crimea residents who have been elected to the Russian State Duma, as well as against the members of the so-called election committees and Ukrainian enterprises in Crimea that have been re-registered as Russian companies,” the statement said.

In addition, the sanctions have been imposed on officers of Russian law enforcement agencies and courts involved in the illegal detention of Ukrainian citizens in Russia.

The NSDC has also applied sanctions against the former heads of Ukraine, who are wanted and are hiding abroad and are involved in the financing of terrorist activities, and Russia`s hybrid aggression against Ukraine.

Furthermore, the sanctions have been imposed against the Russian-controlled legal entities involved in the Russian hybrid war against Ukraine in the field of information and cyberspace.

The NSDC has decided to extend all sanctions against individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation for one year in order to ensure transparency and synchronization of their action.
