“Our state now has 2.2 million tons of coal. These are the largest reserves in recent years for this period. Up to 2.5 million tons will be accumulated before the start of the heating season. Therefore, the maximum capacity of storage facilities will be used.”

The Prime Minister also emphasized that this year we have to pay special attention to firewood stocks. Thus, about 7 million cubic meters of firewood should be accumulated by the beginning of the heating season.

Concerning gas reserves, Ukraine intends to acquire up to 15 billion cubic meters of gas by the start of the heating season. In the winter, our state will rely on the United States for help. Ukraine currently has 13.2 billion cubic meters.

“We have agreements with the USA on the provision of 2 billion cubic meters from American gas producers during QIV of this year and QI of the next year. We engage in the negotiations with the northern countries, in particular with Norway, on the provision of physical volumes of gas for Ukraine.”
