Ukraine continues to observe ‘silence regime’ – NSDC

Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has seen progress in the establishment of peace in Donbas and decided to continue observing a “silence regime.”
NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Since this regime has been supported, and we see that the number of fire attacks that are mainly provocative in nature has declined dramatically, we continue to maintain the silence regime and hope that the number of fire attacks will decline dramatically and be brought to zero,” Lysenko said.
In his opinion, the absence of fire attacks is the first step towards a peaceful negotiating process: “These are just the first steps so that the parties could be able to continue the talks on a full ceasefire on the temporarily occupied territory of Donbas.”
