Ukraine, Cambodia and Japan are preparing a joint project of demining of Ukrainian territories

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba noted on November 11, 2022, that Ukraine, Cambodia and Japan were working on a tripartite project to help to demine Ukraine.

“In the wake of the telephone talks between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen, the Cambodian leader personally received me this week in Phnom Penh. We discussed, in particular, help in demining. We have a joint tripartite project on demining Ukrainian territories with the involvement of Cambodia and Japan. We discussed the specific parameters of this project, who and what will do, and what a schedule,” explained Dmytro Kuleba.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister added that he discussed this project in more detail at yesterday’s meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn.

“Cambodia initiated this project at our request and is ready to help Ukraine in demining, together with Japan. Cambodia has long suffered from war in the past and has considerable experience in demining. That is, there is expertise, there is equipment, we will involve them in solving our problems,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine concluded.
