Ukraine builds up underground gas stocks to 10.25 bln cubic meters

Ukraine has accumulated 10.254 billion cubic meters of gas in its underground storage facilities as of July 23, up from the 9.993 billion cubic meters recorded till July 16, according to Ukrtransgaz, operator of Ukraine`s gas transport system.
The daily amount of gas pumped into the underground storage facilities as of July 23 was about 43.6 million cubic meters.
Ukraine plans to pump 3.3-3.4 billion cubic meters of gas in August and September 2016, to bring the total amount of gas prior to start the heating season to 14-14.5 billion cubic meters.
By the start of the heating season, Ukraine plans to accumulate about 14.5 billion cubic meters of gas in its underground storage facilities.
In the first half of June 2016, Ukraine imported about 0.5 million cubic meters of gas per day from Slovakia. On July 15, gas purchases grew considerably.
State-owned Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to buy gas using its own funds and a US$300 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
