Two more criminal cases opened against Pshonka and his son

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office has opened two criminal proceedings against former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka and his son, MP Artem Pshonka, for embezzlement of property and abuse of office.
Prosecutor General’s Office spokesman Yuriy Boichenko said this at a briefing on Tuesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“On August 18, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office launched a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on abuse of office by former Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka who, acting together with his son, Ukrainian MP Artem Pshonka, organized, through prosecuting authorities and other public authorities subordinate to him, the opening of a number of criminal proceedings and lawsuits against employees and director of Kornatsky Agricultural Firm for the purpose of taking possession of land worth about $200 million,” Boichenko said.
He said that criminal proceedings had been opened under Part 2, Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power resulting in serious consequences).
