“In the course of a reporting trip, two Reuters journalists sustained minor injuries when they came under fire while enroute to Siverodonetsk. They were traveling in a vehicle provided by the Russian-backed separatists and driven by an individual assigned by the separatists. The driver of the vehicle was killed.”

“Reuters extends its deepest sympathies to the family of the driver for their loss,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson didn’t provide additional details about the incident.

The Ukrainian government has urged international journalists not to receive accreditation from the Russian occupiers in Ukraine and not to cover the course of events, as invaders may hide the truth from journalists by showing prepared places and people.

Uaposition memo: The city of Siverodonetsk, in Ukraine’s Luhansk region, has seen some of the heaviest shelling in recent days.
