Turchynov confident law enforcers to prevent any destabilization May 9

Secretary of Ukraine`s National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov says he is confident that the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies will meet the challenge of preventing any attempts to destabilize the situation across the country during the holidays commemorating the victory in World War II.
The law enforcers should be prepared for any kind of provocations that may take place on any day, not just during the holiday period, Turchynov said today during his speech at the training center of the National Police near Kyiv, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
”There were many warnings and much tension around the events of May 2 in Odesa, but I think the Headquarters created with the participation of the Ministry of Interior, the National Guard, and the SBU performed professionally, and no provocations that had been plotted succeeded,” said Turchynov.
”I also hope that the [law enforcers will be as professional on May 9, and we will not allow, due to the efforts of our security services, any attempt to destabilize the situation in the country during these holidays,” said the Secretary of the NSDC.
