“Each EU country provides military assistance to Ukraine on a bilateral basis. We see that happening every day. In addition, the EU has decided to launch a military training mission for Ukraine – EUMAM will train up to 15,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel over multiple locations in the territory of EU member states. The training has already started. EU High Representative Josep Borrell has recently visited Ukrainian soldiers being trained in Brzeg, Poland,” said the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
Matti Maasikas also added that Ukrainian troops demonstrated their courage in defending and liberating their Homeland from Russian soldiers.
“We have all seen how Ukraine has managed to destroy a significant share of Russia´s resources during 2022 across Ukraine. We see how Ukrainians are united in their determination to defend their freedom and country,” added the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces noted that more than 20,000 Ukrainian servicemen had already undergone training abroad.
