“The European Union will stand with Ukraine as long as it is necessary. This means that we will not wait for something. Commercial trade with the EU will help Ukraine compensate for a certain part of the lost assets, this is the way forward. We are not waiting for certain technical circumstances to develop. A few months ago, we installed the necessary equipment and started trading with Ukraine. Thanks to this, we can compensate for part of the electricity generation, which is carried out at the expense of the same Russian gas.”

She noted that the European Union does not intend to limit cooperation with Ukraine only to issues of natural gas or electricity. Soon, a memorandum on cooperation in the field of renewable, or “green” gases will be concluded. This is exactly the market that will develop in Europe, it provides great new opportunities for Ukraine to be a successful trade partner of the EU in the coming years.

“This war has changed the energy future for both the EU and Ukraine. We, both sides, want to get rid of dependence on Russian gas as quickly as possible.”
