US President Joe Biden announced recently that the US would provide Ukraine with “more advanced rocket systems and munitions” as its war with Russia grinds on.
In response to requests from the Ukrainian authorities, new military assistance is likely to be announced this week, which includes additional artillery ammunition and counter-battery radars.
The publication notes that Ukrainian officials have asked for a NASAMS missile defense system capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 160 km. Ukrainian troops will probably have to be trained in the use of these systems.
The US has been steadily announcing the additional security assistance for Ukraine. Last week, the Biden administration announced an additional $450 million in military assistance for Ukraine, giving it four more multiple launch rocket systems and artillery ammunition for other systems.
