Currently, 15.7 million Ukrainians need humanitarian assistance, including 7.1 million internally displaced persons, who live both in private houses and in collective centers.

“Many of these buildings are not adapted to protect against severe cold. With winter temperatures in some parts of the country predicted to drop to -20 degrees Celsius, the serious consequences will be felt by millions of people who live without adequate thermal insulation and heating.”

$226 million is needed to implement the plan to protect the most vulnerable categories in Ukraine.

“This amount will be used for the urgent purchase and distribution of essential items, as well as for the financing of repair works,” the UN said.

80 million dollars are needed to insulate the centers where the displaced people live. 15,000 Ukrainian families living in rural areas will receive assistance from the Ukrainian State for the Repair of the premises in which livestock are kept. 7 million dollars is planned to spend on the repair of heating and hot water supply systems.
