The Ukrainian military repelled three enemy assaults in the south on August 12

Operational Command “South” said, that the Russian occupation forces stormed three times in the direction of Andriivka, Shyroke, and Oleksandrivka in the occupied Kherson region (south of Ukraine) on August 12, 2022, but the Ukrainian defenders inflicted losses on the enemy and forced them to retreat.

“The enemy continues to conduct hostilities, giving preference to counter-battery tactics and airstrikes. During the day, he tried three times to conduct assault operations with the support of a tank fire in the direction of Andriivka, Shyroke, and Oleksandrivka. He had no success, he retreated with losses,” the military said.

Enemy attack aircraft and helicopter pairs attacked Ukrainian positions along the contact line and liberated settlements seven times. The situation in the south remains tense but controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, in order to intimidate civilians, the enemy launched a Kh-59 missile from Su-35 aircraft in the direction of the western part of the Mykolayiv region. There were no damages or injuries.
