According to the commander of the British Air Force, Russia is the biggest threat to the security of Great Britain and Europe.

British warplanes and pilots are ready to fight if Russia’s armed forces pose a threat to Great Britain or its allies. Commander Mike Wigston said his pilots train daily with British allies to maintain “combat superiority”.
Asked how likely the Royal Air Force was to come into direct conflict with Russia, Wigston said Moscow became “increasingly aggressive”.
“We have to be ready for that and that – to my mind – is the most significant lesson for European security that comes out of the invasion. There is no doubt in my mind that Russia is the most pressing threat to the UK and European security – just look at its behaviour not just in Ukraine but in… Georgia before that.”
According to him, the Royal Air Force should be ready to support NATO allies and defend the territory of the Alliance, not just the territory of Great Britain.
