It is noted that today, the Riigikogu (the Parliament of Estonia), with 88 votes in favor, adopted a statement condemning the annexation of the territory of Ukraine and declaring the Russian regime a terrorist.

“Estonia will never recognize the violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine through aggressions or sham referendums. Violation of law can never create law. Supporting the call of the Parliament of Ukraine to countries and international organizations, the Riigikogu declares the Russian regime a terrorist regime and the Russian Federation a state supporting terrorism, whose actions must be confronted together. The Riigikogu calls on the international community to adopt similar declarations, ” the Parliament of Estonia says in the statement.

It is reported that the Riigikogu supports the investigations launched by the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court to clarify the circumstances of crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine.

“The Riigikogu supports the request to strip the Russian Federation of its status of a permanent member of the UN Security Council.”

In addition, the Riigikogu urges NATO and EU member states to increase military assistance to Ukraine. This is necessary to counter Russian aggression, as well as to restore Ukraine’s sovereignty over its territory within internationally recognized borders.
