The Swedish armed forces will send 120 instructors to Great Britain in the period from August 12 to December 31, 2022, for basic military training of Ukrainian citizens. Training will be divided into several stages.
“Russia’s war against Ukraine has now been going on for over five months and it is extremely important that the outside world continues to support Ukraine in the country’s fight for sovereignty and self-determination. It is important that Sweden is involved in that work and the Swedish instructors will contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.”
In total, around 10,000 Ukrainian citizens are expected to participate in the training in the UK. A maximum of 60 of the Swedish instructors will be in the UK at the same time, which is deemed to have little impact on the Swedish Armed Forces’ other operations.
