Sweden allocated more than $19M to support the defense of Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine noted on December 27, 2022, that the Kingdom of Sweden additionally allocated almost 19.2 million dollars to support the defense of Ukraine, the funds would be used to strengthen the military potential.

“Sweden has additionally allocated almost 19.2 million dollars (200 million Swedish crowns) to support the defense of Ukraine,” said the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The funds will be directed to the International Support Fund for Ukraine under the leadership of Great Britain to strengthen the military potential of Ukraine.

“The freedom and independence of the Ukrainian people is a prerequisite for a safe and secure Europe,” said the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, quoting the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.

In addition, the Swedish government, which will chair the EU Council from January 2023, has announced its priorities for the next six months, among which the key positions are the support of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
