“Over the past three weeks, Spain has sent humanitarian aid and large amounts of military equipment, medicine, and weapons. 11 aircraft with 170 tons of military equipment have already been sent. We are making a financial contribution to the European Peace Fund of about EUR 120 million. We are fully committed to EU sanctions against the Putin regime. We have approved a humanitarian package of EUR 31 million, the largest commitment that Spain has ever made to an individual country.  “

According to him, Spain has already provided international protection to 66,000 refugees from Ukraine.

“About 137,000 people have arrived in our country,” Sanchez said.

Spain will continue to provide political, humanitarian, and financial support to Ukraine, as well as military equipment.

“We will continue to protect the most vulnerable. Spain’s humanitarian aid will be targeted primarily at minorities and women who are particularly vulnerable in conflict situations. Of the EUR31 million we have committed, EUR 7 million will  fund UNICEF and the United Nations Population Fund.”
