“All 13 Slovak MIG29 have been safely handed over to Ukrainian Air Force. Proud to be on the right side, doing the right thing to help protect lives. We Stand with Ukraine,” tweeted the Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic.

In March 2023, the Slovak government approved sending 13 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. The country delivered the first four planes last month.

“This transfer was carried out by land with regard to the greatest possible security, again huge thanks to all the involved components, because in such cases it is really an important and demanding logistical operation,” emphasized the Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic Jaroslav Nad.

According to the Minister of Defense of Slovakia, MiG-29 aircraft are an essential support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.

“Besides, unlike our neighbor, these planes were unusable for us. We are doing the right thing,” added Jaroslav Nad.
