Ukraine plans from December 15 to increase capacity for receiving natural from Slovakia to 40 million cu m a day.
Ukrtransgas CEO Ihor Prokopiv said, Terminal website informs.
“There is the whole program on the reverse. Already December 15, we will get approximately 40 million cu m a day,” he said adding that this will become possible thanks to reconstruction of the gas pipeline.
According to Prokopiv, carrying out a number of other works will allow Ukraine importing about 60 million cu m of gas from Europe by the Slovak corridor already from Q4, 2015, whereas today, the maximum daily volume of supplies was recorded at 31.7 million cu m.
Therefore, Ukraine will be able to annually import from Europe more than 20 billion cu m of natural gas, which corresponds to the country’s need in the import resource.
