A shell hit a bus stop on Kyivsky Avenue in Donetsk early on Wednesday, killing eight people, eyewitnesses have reported.
The shell was probably launched from a multiple launch rocket system.
Most of the victims were standing at the bus stop when the shell exploded, and some were riding on a bus, which burned to the ground.
As reported, intense fighting is ongoing near the airport in Donetsk, and the nearby Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky districts of the city are also under fire.
