Russia`s FSB to hold anti-terrorist drills in occupied Crimea

Task forces of Russia`s FSB security service will hold exercises in the occupied Crimea and the Black Sea on ”preventing terrorist attacks and subversion,” according to TASS, referring to the FSB`s public relations center.

Modern equipment and some 2,000 servicemen will be involved in tactical and special exercises of task forces that will be held on May 24-29 in the Russian-occupied peninsula, TASS reports.

”During the exercises, the state of combat readiness of special purpose units of Russia`s FSB Special Operations Center will be checked against acts of suppression of terrorist acts and the liquidation of subversive groups of the conventional enemy on the territory of the peninsula and in the sea area. A total of 2,000 servicemen will participate in the exercises,” the report said.

”As part of the training, it is planned to use aircraft and sea vessels, special armored vehicles, robotic complexes, as well and hi-tech devices for enemy detection and destruction,” the FSB said.

The exercise will be held in two stages: spec-op forces will be trained at the sea infrastructure facilities of the state unitary enterprise Chernomorneftegaz, as well as at the facilities of a Yevpatoria resort, including some parts of the coastal zone and mountain woodland.

As UNIAN reported, border guards of Ukraine`s Azov-Black Sea regional administration on April 21, 2017, took part in antiterrorist exercises initiated by the office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region, near the de-facto border with the occupied Crimea.
