Russians shelled an energy facility in the Donetsk region

The press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine noted that one of the electricity generation facilities was hit in the Donetsk region due to to the massive Russian shelling on April 28, 2023.

“During the massive shelling carried out by Russia on April 28, a hit was recorded to one of the electricity generation facilities in the Donetsk region. The Russian army fired with artillery, as a result of which the equipment was partially damaged,” reported the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The employees of the facility were not injured.

“Other generation facilities of Ukraine were not damaged during the shelling on April 28,” added the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Starting from October 10, 2022, Russia carries out massive missile and drone strikes on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. During this period, 24 generation facilities (thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants and pumped-storage hydroelectricity), about half of the substations of the transmission system, and 43% of the trunk networks were affected. Most objects were hit several times.
