The mayor of Melitopol said on August 19, 2022, that Russian invaders are mining heating plants and large boiler houses in occupied Melitopol (south of Ukraine). They want to blow them up in order to blame Ukraine for disrupting the heating season.

“For the second day, our heating plants and our large boiler houses – three of them – are being mined. Russian troops mine them in order to blame our armed forces, but we understand that it was Russians who destroyed the gas system. So, it will be difficult with heating.”
The mayor of Melitopol added that a communal collapse can be predicted in the fall on the territory of the temporarily captured Zaporizhzhia region. After all, there is no gas in many settlements, which means that there will be no heating.
226,681 subscribers in 269 settlements of the region are without a gas supply. 261 and partially 8 settlements are completely disconnected due to the damage to main gas pipelines on the territory of Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.
