Russians hit Ukraine’s central region with rockets, object of energy infrastructure is damaged

The Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Valentyn Reznichenko noted that the  Dnipropetrovsk region was once again attacked by Russian multiple rocket launcher “Grad”, heavy artillery and rockets on October 17, 2022.

Russians fired four cruise missiles at the Dnipropetrovsk region, but Ukrainian military air command managed to destroy three of them. Unfortunately, one missile hit an energy infrastructure object.

“Three Russian missiles were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces. One missile hit an energy infrastructure facility. There is a big fire. All services work at the place.”

In addition, Russian troops fired more than 30 shells into the Nikopol district. Residential buildings were destroyed in Marganets and Chervonohryhorivka communities. According to preliminary information, there are no civilian casualties.

As a result of the Russian attack, emergency power outages began in Dnipropetrovsk and the region.

“Russia continues to fire at energy infrastructure facilities and cause destruction. There will be power outages in Dnipro and the region in order to eliminate damage and balance the power system,” explained the CEO of energy company “Yasno” Sergey Kovalenko.
