Russians are torturing workers of Ukraine’s nuclear plant before the arrival of the IAEA

National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine “Energoatom” noted on August 27, 2022, that the special services of the Russian Federation are torturing the workers of the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in order to force them not to tell the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors about the safety risks at the plant.

ZNPP workers spoke about the torture. They noted that there is now an atmosphere of fear at the plant.

Russian occupiers arrest Ukrainian personnel, and send them “to the basement”. It is noted that “people come back after these ‘conversations’ in the basement and don’t say a word at all.”

Energoatom believes that Russian occupiers are preparing various provocations ahead of the arrival of the IAEA mission.

In particular, according to the employees of ZNPP, Russian invaders plan to reduce the presence of Ukrainian personnel to a minimum and in each room of the control center “to place several Russian representatives who will shout loudly that they have been waiting for “liberation” from the regime in Kyiv.”

The visit of the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency to the Zaporizhzhia NPP is scheduled for next week, currently, occupiers are artificially creating all the conditions so that the IAEA does not reach the plant.
