Russian troops shelled thermal power plant in Ukraine’s east: a fire broke out

The Head of the Donetsk Region Military Administration reported that a fire broke out as a result of the Russian attack on the Sloviansk thermal power plant (TPP) on September 17, 2022. The fire is currently under control by rescuers. The city of Mykolaivka has interruptions in water supply due to the shelling.

Russian troops shelled the Sloviansk TPP on the morning of September 17. As a result of the attack, the equipment on the territory of the station was damaged.

“Russian soldiers are deliberately targeting infrastructure facilities in the region, trying to cause as much damage as possible, primarily to the civilian population,” the Head of Donetsk Region Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko stressed.

As reported, the night of September 17 in the Donetsk region passed relatively calmly. Avdiivka, Marinka and the villages of the Komarska community: Vilne Pole and Burlatske came under the artillery fire of the Russian army. Russians also damaged a private house in Soledar.
