Russian troops shelled a village in the north of Ukraine, 4 civilians were killed

The press center of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported that Russian soldiers shelled a village of Yeline in the Chernihiv region (north of Ukraine) on February 1, 2023. As a result of the attack, 4 civilians were killed.

“According to the investigation, on February 1, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:10 p.m., the Russian army shelled the village of Yeline in Snovsk district of the Chernihiv region. As a result of the Russian shelling, four local residents who were hiding from shelling in the cellar of a residential building were killed. One person was injured and taken to the hospital. The cause of death of the victims was shrapnel wounds,” noted the press center of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, the mortar attack was carried out from the border territory of the Russian Federation.

“Currently, priority investigative and procedural actions are underway in the criminal proceedings,” added the press center of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
