“Russian troops continue to destroy the Donetsk region – an investigation has been launched into the facts of repeated shelling of Bakhmut… As a result of the shelling, a 55-year-old man was killed. Four more citizens, including two employees of the State Emergency Service, who were performing their official duties, received shrapnel injuries,” noted the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.

According to the investigation, on January 27, 2023, the Russian army shelled the cities of Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar and the village of Paraskovyivka in the Bakhmut district with multiple rocket launchers.

“Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, pre-trial investigations are carried out in criminal proceedings based on the facts of violations of the laws and customs of war,” the prosecutor’s office stated.
