“Now the situation is under control in the energy system, but there is still a significant shortage of electricity. All thermal and hydroelectric power plants in the country have been damaged, 40% of the high-voltage network facilities have been damaged to varying degrees. Therefore, in most regions, power supply restrictions are still significant. This is a necessary measure to maintain the balanced operation of the Ukrainian energy system,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine explained.

In addition, the Prime Minister noted that the situation in the Kyiv region was difficult, where the Russian army had struck the generation facilities, which is why the deficit is more significant on the left bank of the city/

“But the most difficult situation is in Donetsk region and Kharkiv regions [east of Ukraine – ed.], where Russian troops attack generation facilities and distribution networks with artillery almost every day. The situation is complicated by weather conditions, which slow down not only restoration work but also the work of demining brigades,” said Denys Shmyhal.
