Russia fired more than 1,000 missiles and projectiles at energy facilities in Ukraine

Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of National Power Company “Ukrenergo” noted on December 7, 2022, that the Russian army fired more than 1,000 missiles and projectiles at the energy facilities of Ukraine, as a result of which the energy system was severely damaged.

“We have already experienced massive attacks by Russian troops. These attacks are the biggest blow to the power grid that humanity has ever seen. More than 1,000 shells and missiles were fired at electrical facilities and lines, including substations in Ukraine. Unfortunately, these attacks caused great damage to Ukraine and our system,” explained the Chairman of the Board of National Power Company “Ukrenergo”.

According to Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Ukraine has a large deficit in generating capacity.

Russia’s eighth massive missile attack on Ukrainian energy facilities took place on December 5, 2022. According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, more than 60 missiles were shot down out of more than 70 launched by Russian troops.
