Russian military shelled Bakhmut, 5 civilians were killed, and 9 injured: photos

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine noted that five civilians were killed and nine were injured in Bakhmut, the Donetsk region, on February 16, 2023, as a result of Russian shelling from barrel artillery and Grad multiple-launch rocket system.

“According to the investigation, on February 16, 2023, the troops of the aggressor state [Russia – ed.] shelled the town of Bakhmut with barrel artillery and Grad multiple system launcher. The shells of Russian soldiers once again hit the residential quarter of the city,” informed the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Three men and two women were killed as a result of the attack by the Russian army. Nine citizens received shrapnel injuries of varying degrees of severity. Many residential buildings were also damaged.

Currently, Russian troops continue to shell the city.

“Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, pre-trial investigations have been started in criminal proceedings on the facts of violations of the laws and customs of war,” added the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
