The press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine noted that two civilians were injured as a result of the Russian shelling of the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region (east of Ukraine) on January 16, 2023.

“According to the investigation, on January 16, around 7:30 a.m., Russian troops fired artillery at the city of Kupyansk. As a result of shelling of the city, 5- and 9-story residential buildings were damaged. Two people were injured,” reported the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war.
Earlier, the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration said that a 65-year-old woman was injured as a result of Russian rocket attack on Kupyansk on January 16.
“This morning, the Russian army once again shelled the city of Kupyansk. A private home and an apartment building were damaged. A 65-year-old woman was injured. Emergency services are on site,” added Oleg Sinegubov.
