Russia offers USD 100 discount on gas for Ukraine

Russia confirms its proposals for a discount on gas to Ukraine at USD 100 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Energy Minister Alexander Novak announced after the talks in Moscow with European Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger, a special correspondent of Ukrinform in Russia reports.
“The Russian side confirms those suggestions, which were heard before, the possibility of giving a discount of USD 100 with respect to the price, which is formed in accordance with the formula of the contract,” Novak said.
Now, the price of Russian gas for Ukraine is USD 485.5 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Recall that in June, the government of Ukraine refused the same proposals of the Russian Federation. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said then that official Kyiv refused Moscow’s offer discounts on gas at USD 100, made by a decision of the Russian government, and insists on fixing the market price directly in the contract.
