Russia mentions negotiations every time its troops are defeated, – Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko called the latest statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia about readiness for negotiations another “smoke screen” and imitation for regrouping of troops. He said this on Facebook on November 9, 2022.

“The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia is another smoke screen. Russian officials begin to mention the talks every time Russian troops are defeated on the battlefield. Moscow is not interested in restoring peace in Ukraine,” explained the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

According to Oleg Nikolenko, by simulating readiness for dialogue, the Russian Federation is trying to buy time to regroup units, prepare newly mobilized units, solve the issue of lack of weapons, eliminate the shortcomings of logistics, and then resort to new waves of aggression with new forces.

The diplomat also noted that those who are interested in peace negotiations do not destroy cities and villages, do not kill civilians, do not destroy energy infrastructure, do not abuse the residents of temporarily occupied territories, and do not hinder food supplies.

“Let me remind you that Ukraine has repeatedly offered negotiations. But I always received either a contemptuous reaction and a demand to obey the Kremlin’s ultimatums or another act of genocide against Ukrainians,” concluded the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
